Operating since 1994, Waipu Hauora is a Maori Health Provider servicing three marae;
Hungahungatoroa, Waikari and Whareroa including the wider Community of Matapihi and our surrounding areas. We are sub-contracted to Poutiri Trust who is in turn contracted to the Western Bay of Plenty DHB.

Since our inception we have maintained our Whanau Ora and Kuia Koroua contracts giving us opportunity to provide and sustain health and well-being services to our community.

In previous years we have won the following awards from our network provider Poutiri Trust competing with 18 other service providers throughout the Eastern and Western Bay of Plenty regions.

Our core business is Health Promotion which we achieve by providing a number of services to our Community and deliver these in a culturally appropriate manner. We endeavour to ensure that our services are affordable and most importantly relevant to the needs of our community.  Regular clinics and services we run include:-

• Weekly Mirimiri Clinic - Wednesdays from 9:30am

• FREE Weekly Community Nursing Led Clinics - Thursdays from 9.30am

• Ngati Kahu GP Clinic - Thursdays from 9:30am

• Asthma, Diabetes, Podiatrist & Hearing Clinics

As well as these, each year we provide services or events targeted for a specific group, eg. Kaumatua, Tamariki , Whanau who suffer from Diabetes, Asthma or require Nutrition advice.  Other successful promotions include:-
